Williams Hamilton Juris Consult organized its fourth edition of training sessions at the Accra City Hotel in Kigali. The focus was on Virtual Court and ADR. Training sessions were held between August 9th to the 13th 2021
The training was facilitated by Hon. Justice Folashade Aguda Taiwo, Hon. Justice Gina Mensah-Datsa, and Dr. Esa Onoja. Topics were arranged with alternating trainers and included the Ghanaian judge to provide fresh perspectives and additional insights.
Covered topics included Fast-Tracking Case Flow and Management Systems, performance evaluation, monitoring and progress indicators, administrative and ecosystem discussions, and a case study on Civil vs. Criminal Case Tracking Systems. Feedback and discussions often extended for an hour after each topic. Practical videos showing the conduct of virtual cases in Ghana, presented by Mr. Andrew Mortey, Head of Information Technology from the Ghana High Court, were also included.
The training had six participants, all judges. The sessions allowed delegates to network, meet colleagues from different Nigerian states and jurisdictions, and exchange experiences.
Group photographs were taken, course evaluation forms were completed by the delegates, and certificates of participation were presented on the final day. The course culminated with a beautiful bus tour of Accra where they visited the High Court of Accra, the Nigerian Consulate in Ghana and several tourist spots.
